A plastic pipe recycling line was founded in the Sugarcane Development Company

According to IRNA, 21 billion and 500 million Rials have been dispensed to set up a recycling line for plastic and polyethylene irrigation pipes, which plays an important role in preserving the environment of the surrounding lands and reducing the infrastructure costs of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co.
The CEO of Aban Baspar Development Co. at the ceremony of utilization of this recycling line stated: “By launching this recycling line, 15 direct job opportunities have been created, while preventing the discarding of folding irrigation pipes (hydro flume) and with the installation of the granulation unit, the recycled materials are reused.
Mehrzad Fateminia added: “By launching the recycling line, while reducing costs of purchasing irrigation equipment and pipes made of lightweight polyethylene used in the seven Agro-industries of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co., an important step has been taken to protect the region’s environment”.
Also in this ordinance the CEO of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co. said: ” By launching the waste recycling line (polyethylene) in this company, the purchase of irrigation equipment of Sugarcane Industry complex and high costs were prevented.”
Expressing satisfaction with the situation of sugar production in this company, AbdAli Naseri estimated that by April 16th this year 620,000 tons of sugar would be produced in the seven sugarcane Agro-units of this company in Khuzestan, which is the end of the sugarcane harvest season.
Mentioning that Khuzestan’s Seven Sugarcane Agro-industry units suffered heavy damage during the floods of April 2019 and about 40,000 hectares of sugarcane lands were submerged, he added: 2 years after that unprecedented flood, the situation of this company has reached stability and profitability.
Aban Baspar Development Co. was established in 1993 with the aim of supplying a part of the goods required for infrastructure operations and preparation of agricultural lands of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co. in Khuzestan.
According to IRNA, the executive operations of Khuzestan’s Seven Sugarcane Units started on an area of 84,000 hectares in the south and north of Ahvaz in the 1990s and have been put into operation one after another since the beginning of 2001.
The seven sugarcane units of Salman Farsi, Hakim Farabi, Imam Khomeini, Dehkhoda, Amirkabir, Mirza koochak Khan and Debal Khazaei alone supply about 40% of the country’s sugar.
Haft Tappeh and Karun sugarcane units are other independent sugar production units in Khuzestan.
It is predicted that in the 2021-2022 crop year, sugar production in the seven units of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co. of Khuzestan will reach an unprecedented and nominal figure of 700,000 tons.
The country’s annual need for sugar is 2.2 million tons, of which 1.5 million tons is produced domestically and about 700,000 tons of raw sugar is imported from abroad, which an important part of the imported raw (yellow) sugar is converted into white sugar in Khuzestan Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co.
According to the planned Vision of 2025, about 70% of the country’s sugar production in Khuzestan will be provided by the production of two strategic products, sugarcane and sugar beet.
