According to PR report, the international conference was held by the University of Basra in Iraq on March of the previous year.
According to this report, a joint article by Peyman Sharafizadeh and Amin Nikpai, Salman Farsi sugarcane Agro-Industry researchers, entitled “Evaluation of Metribuzin herbicide suspension in control of Sorghum weeds in sugarcane fields” was selected by the Basra University Agricultural Congress as the top scientific article.
According to the authors of this article, Metribuzin herbicide can be considered as an effective herbicide in the weed management program of sugarcane fields.
Greater adaptation to the environment, no clogging of the nozzle due to its liquidity, easier transportation than powder herbicide and no sedimentation in the tank are some of the advantages of the Metribuzin herbicide suspension.
Other advantages of this formulation are lower cost and ease of operation of sprayer users. Also, this article is the first report on the use of Metribuzin formulation (herbicide) of suspension in weed control of sugarcane fields in Iran.
