The board member of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Company emphasized the need to speed up the development projects of the downstream industries of the sugarcane industry in order to create sustainable employment and production in the region.

According to the PR report of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Company, on Saturday (June 24^th), Dr. Meghdad Mahmoudi, while visiting the construction process of factories for the production of “Essence” of eucalyptus and the production of phosphate fertilizers in Imam Khomeini (RA) Agro-industry stated, several development plans are being implemented in the sugarcane industry, which will provide new job opportunities for the youth of the region.

Completing the production chain and creating added value

He added that Sugarcane Development Company has taken important steps in diversifying sugarcane products by making effective investments in ancillary industries and setting up downstream industries such as paper, essential oil, phosphate fertilizer, MDF, etc., and has also taken important steps in the diversification of sugarcane products and has achieved valuable successes in the growth of production.

The board member of Sugarcane Development Company evaluated the progress in the construction process of two factories for the production of eucalyptus essential oil and the production of phosphate fertilizer as favorable and said that each of these industries was created based on the needs and capacities of sugarcane Agro-industries in completing the production chain and creating added value.

During this visit, Vice President of Industry of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Company and Managing Director of Imam Khomeini (RA) Sugarcane Agro-Industry provided explanations about the capacities of construction factories.

According to this report, due to the intensive industrial cultivation of eucalyptus trees in Imam Khomeini’s (R.A.) Agro-industry, more than 144 tons of eucalyptus essential oil will be produced annually by operating the eucalyptus “essence” factory.

This essential oil is widely used in the pharmaceutical, food, health and cosmetic industries in three forms of liquid, solid and powder, and at the same time, it has a suitable capacity for export to other countries.

Also, the “phosphate” and “nitrate” fertilizer production plant of this Agro-industry is being built with the participation of 2 knowledge-based companies. Calcium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, calcium monophosphate, calcium diphosphate, ammonium phosphate nitrate are among the products of this factory with a capacity of 50,000 tons.
