According to the PR report, in this conference, which was held today, June 29th, in the presence of the representative of the Supreme Leader in Khuzestan, the Governor, the CEO of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Company, the CEO of the province’s Department of Environment and a group of other provincial managers, Imam Khomeini (RA) Agro-Industry was praised as the country’s green industrial unit and Amirkabir, Dabal Khazaei and Hakim Farabi Agro-Industries were considered as the province’s green industrial units.
Green industry refers to an industry that, based on environmental criteria and at the discretion of the Environmental Protection Agency, has made significant efforts during the year to protect the environment.
Establishment of a pollutant monitoring system, Landscape development, optimal energy consumption and use of clean energy and establishment of instantaneous monitoring of pollutants were among the indicators for selecting green industrial and service units.
In March of last year, the 22nd National Conference on Green Industrial and Service Units was held in Tehran, in which Imam Khomeini (RA) Agro-Industry was selected as the top green industrial unit. Also, Amirkabir, Dabal Khazaei and Hakim Farabi sugarcane Agro-Industries were selected as green industrial units of Khuzestan province.
Encouragement of industry owners to comply with environmental standards
In this conference the Director General of Khuzestan’s Department of Environment stated that the purpose of selecting green industries is to encourage industry owners to observe environmental indicators.
Mohammad Javad Ashrafi, stating that the progress in the world is based on the green economy, said: Khuzestan is one of the industrial provinces of the country where industries are not yet in an ideal environmental state, but activities have been done to reduce pollution.
He stressed: “What is important is the efforts of industry owners to continue to achieve sustainable development indicators.”
Khuzestan has the most, green units
At the conference the Director General of the Environmental Impact Assessment Office of the Environmental Protection Organization also said: Khuzestan province has the most, green units among other provinces.
Hamid Jalavandi, stating that in the view of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the environment and its preservation is a vital issue, added: “The Supreme Leader of the Revolution has a comprehensive view of the environment as much as he has a comprehensive view of production in the country.”

The representative of the Supreme Leader in Khuzestan also emphasized on paying attention to the environment in this conference and said: we should try to have a view appropriate to the environment in various issues.
Hojjatoleslam Mousavifard stated: in addition to development work for the province, environmental protection must also be considered and along with the development of environmental requirements, it is necessary that we can take steps to develop and reduce problems.
The Governor of Khuzestan also spoke at the conference about the need for an environmental and social annex for the projects. Qasem Soleimani Dashtaki added: the major part of industrial pollution rights should be spent on improving environmental indicators and reforming its structures.
