The first wheat beds in the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co.’s Seven Agro-Industries are ripe and ready, the harvesting of the golden straws next to the lush sugarcane fields have created a beautiful scenery.

As reported by the P.R. Office of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co., according to Deputy of Agricultural Operations of the company, wheat harvesting operation have started in more than 2,000 hectares of cultivated farms in the Seven Agro-Industries of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co.
Referring to this, Dr. Jafar Al-Kathir said: “Along with the cultivation of sugarcane as the main and strategic produce this company cultivates other strategic crops such as wheat, canola and sugar beet for the purpose of developing sustainable cultivation by increasing biodiversity in its farms and also providing part of the country’s needs for these produces in its program.
He specified: in the field of non-sugarcane crops, in the current crop year, in addition to wheat cultivation, 2,150 hectares of rapeseed and also more than 200 hectares of sugar beet have been planted and cultivated in the affiliated industries and industries in the crop rotation program.
200 hectares in Imam Khomeini’s Agro-Industry, 506 hectares in Amirkabir Agro-Industry, 292 hectares in Mirza Kuchak Khan Agro-Industry, 467 hectares in Debal Khazaei Agro-Industry, 200 hectares in Salman Farsi Agro-Industry, 310 hectares in Farabi Agro-Industry and 28 hectares in Dehkhoda Agro-Industry are under wheat cultivation.
Wheat harvesting in the fields of Sugarcane Development Company has started from the beginning of May and its produce will be delivered at the approved price by the government to the shopping centers of rural cooperatives. Its plant residues are also collected and used by contractors to provide animal feed and also to prepare compost as a cultivation bed for use in growing edible mushrooms.
It should be mentioned that in the non-sugarcane crops cultivation of this company, no excesses are burned and the colleagues, knowing its usefulness for improving soil physical and chemical properties as well as reducing environmental impact are mixed with soil with suitable agricultural implements.
