The CEO of Razi Yeast & Alcohol Co. stated: For the first time in Khuzestan, fresh yeast produced by Razi Yeast & Alcohol Co. enters the market.
According to the public relations office of the Sugarcane Development Company, Ali Ehteshami declared: Since October the production of fresh yeast with the highest quality has started on a trial basis and will soon reach mass production.
He added: Razi Yeast & Alcohol Co. is the largest producer of yeast in the country, which uses molasses produced by sugarcane companies and provides a valuable yeast product that is used in bread and bakery industries.

Production of 12,000 tons of yeast

The CEO of Razi Yeast & Alcohol Co., referring to the increase of yeast production in this company, mentioned: “Relying on national expertise and the efforts of specialists and employees, the yeast production capacity increased from 10,000 tons per year to 12,000 tons. One of the planned goals of this company is to reach the production capacity of 15,000 tons of yeast per a year.”

Ehteshami, maintaining that the main products of this company can be exported, noted: Receiving the standard badge of Iran and extensive presence in domestic, regional and foreign markets shows the capability and high quality of the company’s yeast, and due to the superior quality of the products, we were able to be included in the list of U.N. suppliers.

He added: Khuzestan province has become self-sufficient in yeast production and in addition to meeting the domestic needs of the country, exports the surplus of this product to countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria and African countries.

The CEO of Razi Yeast & Alcohol Co. added: “Some bakeries use baking soda instead of yeast to speed up the processing of dough for the preparation of bread baking, but they are unaware that this chemical is very harmful for the human body.”

Ehteshami informed preventing the absorption of nutrients such as calcium, iron deficiency and carcinogenicity are among the disadvantages of consuming bread containing baking soda.

t should be mentioned that the production of yeast in Razi Yeast & Alcohol Co. started at the end of 2011 by using the latest technology in the world and provided employment for 500 people directly and indirectly. Razi Yeast & Alcohol Co.is located 30 km south of Ahvaz.
