Sugarcane and By‑Products Development Company Exceeds 721,000 Tonnes of White Sugar
The CEO of Sugarcane and By-Products Development Company announced that since the start of the current operational year, the company has produced over 721,695 tons of white sugar. He identified this volume as a sign of the sugarcane industry’s upward trajectory on Iran’s path toward self sufficiency.
AHWAZ, July 7, 2025 – The Sugarcane and By‑Products Development Company has announced today that it has produced a total of 721,695 tonnes of white sugar since the beginning of the current operational year — an achievement officials say signifies a significant step toward national sugar self‑sufficiency.
Dr. Abd Ali Naseri, CEO of the company, addressed the press, confirming that the daily sugar refining rate has reached an average of 712 tonnes, surpassing the plant’s nominal capacity in a demonstration of strong production management capabilities. He also added that refining operations will continue unabated through the end of the operational year.
Dr. Naseri emphasized uninterrupted market supply, stating that sugar shipments are ongoing to ensure consumer needs are met at all times. He added that securing steady supply under current market conditions is a top priority.
He further underlined the company’s wider contribution to Iran’s domestic supply, noting that the Sugarcane Industry is currently meeting over 40 percent of the country’s annual sugar demand. He said this positions the industry as a key pillar in achieving self‑reliance for this strategic commodity.
