Sugarcane is a major publishing university of agricultural knowledge

The CEO of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co. mentioned “Sustainable, Science-based and Environment-based Agriculture” as three prominent features of the company’s activities along with production and job creation.
According to the PR report of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co., Dr. Abd Ali Naseri today, Saturday (March 27), in an interview with reporters at the Ahwaz International Agricultural Exhibition, said: Sugarcane is at the top of Khuzestan’s agricultural production and makes up half of the province’s agricultural products.
Out of a total of 14 million tons of agricultural and horticultural products in the province, which has made this province one of the top agricultural producers in the country, more than seven million tons of it, is from Sugarcane.
He described the arrival of sugarcane to such a position as a product of the continuous movement of this industry in the path of science, and called the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co. a major publishing university for agricultural knowledge.
According to Dr. Naseri, this industry, with 84,000 hectares of “smart farms” and new methods in “Plantation, and harvesting”, has established its name and reputation in the region as a leading industry in agriculture and with its specialists, this company has been able to work in agricultural publishing for sustainable development.
The CEO of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Company, defined attention to the environment, innovation and creativity in industry as two approaches of the Sugarcane Development Co. in the field of agriculture and said: Innovation and creativity serve the environmental and production goals of the company and in this regard, in order to increase the green harvest, by relying on internal capabilities and knowledge, several sugarcane harvesters have been localized.
The environmental steps of this company are not limited to the green harvest of sugarcane fields, but also include a range of new industrial refineries and factories, and receiving the title of green industry by the Environment Organization also indicates the environmental approach of the sugarcane industry.
The CEO of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Co, considered the removal of chemical toxins and pesticides from sugarcane fields using biological control as an important step in the field of agriculture, which has placed this industry in the category of environmentally friendly industries.
In another part of his speech, Naseri called the efforts to make sugarcane cultivation more compatible with the climatic and atmospheric conditions of Khuzestan as another action of this company in the field of agriculture which is currently being done by using new varieties and new irrigation systems.
He mentioned the “Hydroflume” irrigation method of sugarcane fields as the most modern irrigation method in the world and emphasized that the use of this method has increased water productivity in the sugarcane industry.
In addition to the hydroflume irrigation method, a pilot drip and sprinkler irrigation system is also being implemented in this industry to be used on a large scale after passing the initial tests.
The 10th International Exhibition of Agriculture, Investors, Irrigation Equipment, Greenhouses and Horticulture will be held simultaneously with the International Exhibition of Livestock and Poultry, Aquaculture, Veterinary drugs and related industries until March 29 at the Ahwaz Permanent Exhibition Center.
