The melody of production resonated in Hafttappeh
According to the PR report of the Sugarcane & By-Products Development Company, the sugarcane harvesting and sugar production operations were started simultaneously with the 60th anniversary of the Hafttappeh Sugarcane unit, with the presence of Ayatollah Mohsen Heidari, Khuzestan’s representative in the Assembly of Leadership Experts, Hujjat al-Islam Jalil Ali Nejad Chairman of the Khuzestan Friday Imams Policy Council, Dr. Abd Alli Naseri, CEO of Sugarcane & By-Products Development Company, Engineer Fathi Makvand, CEO of Hafttappeh Sugarcane Company, and a group of managers and employees.

This is Hafttappeh’s first sugarcane harvest and sugar production operation after being handed over to the Sugarcane Development Company.
In the 60th year of operations in Hafttappeh, this sugarcane company has moved away from the tense days of workers’ protests and all employees’ demands have been met and their salaries have been updated.
With the start of sugarcane harvesting and sugar production, the workers also started working and are satisfied with the space created in the production route.
Saeed Hamdani, one of the workers in the irrigation department of the sugarcane fields, described the current atmosphere of Hafttappeh as promising and said: “With the departure of the private sector, life has become more agreeable to all workers.”
Hamdani did not rule out reaching the golden days of Hafttappeh and emphasized that with Hafttappeh joining the Sugarcane Development Company, the protests have completely subsided and with the payment of arrears and salaries, the company is full of liveliness and vitality.
With the transfer of Hafttappeh to the Sugarcane Development seven projects from 10th October this year, not only were the workers’ arrears paid, but the salaries were updated and the workers were covered by supplementary insurance, and the company returned to the production cycle after a long period of protests.
More than 40% of Hafttappeh Sugarcane lands have been destroyed due to drought and past mismanagement, and it is expected that 300,000 tons of sugarcane will be harvested and from this amount, 30,000 tons of sugar will be produced.
Some of the fields damaged by the past drought and mismanagement have been restored by workers, and according to the three-year plan, Hafttappeh Sugarcane will reach a production capacity of 100,000 tons of sugar per year as the eighth Sugarcane Development project.
