The migration of birds to the Naseri Pond of Khorramshahr has began.
The head of the Khorramshahr Department of Environmental Protection said: “Aquatic and water birds have been observed in the Naseri Sugarcane Pond in Khorramshahr.”
In an interview with IRNA on Sunday, Reza Javid stated that the area of ”Naseri” sugarcane pond in Khorramshahr is 29,700 hectares and said: “Every year, due to Naseri pond, irrigation canals, fish farms and Reed beds, Khorramshahr hosts these migratory birds.”
He added: “In the research conducted so far, 41 species of birds have been identified in Khorramshahr city, which mainly include wintering species, ducks including Eurasian teals, Gadwalls, marbled ducks, Mallards, Ruddy shelducks, Common shelducks, and birds such as Pelicans and Flamingos.” These birds feed on plants and aquatic creatures./IRNA
